Interested in learning more about the Boston Food Policy Council? The Mayor's Office of Food Initiatives will be hosting a Q&A session on March 9th, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Boston City Hall, Room 801 for anyone wanting to become a part of the BFPC. We'll be discussing the future of the Boston Food Policy Council, different ways of getting involved, and taking questions on how to become a BFPC board member. About the Boston Food Policy Council
The Boston Food Council was formed in 2009. Meeting quarterly, this group has provided information sharing and educational opportunities for people who work on all aspects of Boston's food system. The Boston Food Policy Council meetings are open to the public. The meetings are quarterly at City Hall.
About the Mayor's Office of Food Initiatives
The Mayor's Office of Food Initiatives works to ensure that Boston has a robust, resilient food system and all constituents have adequate access to fresh, healthy food. The Office works to make healthy food more available and more affordable to improve food security for low income residents through the Boston Bounty Bucks program at Boston farmers markets. The Office also supports a sustainable food environment through increased urban farming and public composting. The city supports economic development through supporting food trucks and local farmers. Boston also brings together organizations to work together to improve the Boston food environment.
