Learn how to create cropping and cultivation systems on a draft animal powered farm, with demonstrations, consultation, and the opportunity for hand on practice. See demonstrations of a single horse cultivator, and the New 4 McCormick-Deering cultivator—which includes using the tools to mark rows, plant, hill, and cultivate. Various strategies for organic weed control will be discussed. $35 for the full day and $35 extra for hands-on practice with a teamster. Facilitator: Stephen Leslie, author of "The New Horse-Powered Farm," and "Horse-Powered Farming for the 21st Century."
