Description

Want to take direct action to positively impact pollinator health and reverse the steep decline in honeybee and native pollinator populations? Join instructor Tom Sullivan to learn strategies for planning and planting successful pollinator habitats on your homestead or in your backyard.

Pollinator plantings support seed and fruit set for your crops while also attracting beneficial insects and beautifying your land. We will spend time in the classroom, learning the hows and whys of properly planning a pollinator habitat, native pollinator habitat creation, and functional and aesthetic values.  Participants will also make their own wildflower meadow seed balls and wood-nesting bee houses to take home with them. In addition, participants will have some hands-on time on the host homestead in Greenfield, interacting with the in-progress pollinator habitat that Tom installed in 2015.
