Description

Are you looking for ways to grow your local foods program? Join the discussion in this roundtable with dining operators from institutions across Connecticut. Share your successes and challenges and identify opportunities to collaborate to advance local foods efforts in the state. Together we will explore effective ways to define and communicate your local and regional food purchasing goals and stategies for marketing your program. The session will include significant time for discussion of these themes with peers from other CT colleges and universities as well as opportunities to plan next steps with other indviduals from your institution.

The morning will conclude with a networking session with local farmers interested in growing their institutional sales. You’ll have time to learn about their farm businesses and evaluate whether and how they can be a part of your local foods program.  

While this event is free, pre-registration is required. This workshop is hosted by UCONN Extension, Farm to Institution New England and FamilyFarmed.
