Join the Headwaters Garden and Learning Center in Cabot, Vermont for one or two weekends as they host New Economy Camp 2016.
August 13 & 14: New Economy Practice
Join practitioners who have been active in the Transition Town and Community Resilience movements as we discuss the lessons we have learned from setting up new means of exchange, learning and teaching new skills, building new kinds of community infrastructure, and practicing non-violent direct action on many different levels. LIVE MUSIC Saturday night with Rik Palieri. $10 suggested donation.
Join academics and students who have been part of an interuniversity project called Economics of the Anthropocene as we discuss the last year of online conversations related to money and finance. The objective of the project was to develop a course of study in ecological finance and banking… this camp will allow for generative conversations about how the curriculum might be structured. LIVE MUSIC Saturday night with Missisquoi River Band. $10 suggested donation.
The New Economy Camps will run using Open Space as a way to structure the program. This means that as a participant, you will have a voice in what is offered. You can propose a session to discuss any topic that falls within the general area of discussion outlined above. Other principles of the Open Space discussion groups, like the law of two feet, "being like a butterfly", and expectations of discussion leaders will be further described Saturday morning. There will also be opportunities to sit around and talk without structure. Headwaters has several fireplaces, a wood fired hot tub, a large kitchen, trails to walk in the woods, and several covered indoor and outdoor porches to sit on even if it rains.
