Hi RJ - In forums there is an option to attach pdfs and word docs etc. but within the wikis there is only the image option? Is this correct? Is there a technical reason for this, or is it just a matter of adding the same functionality to the wikis? Thanks..
After reading RJ’s post about avatar image sizes, it got me thinking about other standardized sizes. One thing which may be beneficial would be a more standardized height for tools on the tools list page. As of right now the amount of space tools take up is correlated to the length of the description and/or the size of the image. Tools with longer descriptions take up significantly more space than others and stretch out the list.
We should set a strict width on those icons so this illusion does not occur.

there are three places with the word "forum" or "forums" in them. only one directs to this forum, and the other 2 direct to the old forum.
"IN THE FORUM" and "WELCOME TO FARMHACK FORUM" on the right side both direct to the old forum.
"forum" in the top menu bar directs here.
Can those links in the third column get changed?

Congratulations! The concept for this site is long over do. I've worked on the development of the new approaches to grass fed since it's start. Before one thinks about tools they must be sure their overall approach to what their trying to do is sound. No matter how many tools inorganic/chemical based agriculture have created it was the mere approach from the start that have brought on so many shortcomings. Before one thinks about a new plow design they must first realize the impact of a plow in general. The most important tool to farming is the life in the soil.
Clicked on the link rj had given in the hoophouse wiki which does work now, but after writing message and sending it the page reset to the Farm Hack homepage so you get kicked all the way out of the Forum instead of to the main forum page. Not a big deal but a little wierd.
When trying to subscribe to all forum activity, when already logged in, a pop-up prompts with "authentication required A username and password are being requested by http://dev.farmhack.gotpantheon.com. The site says: "Restricted Site""
There is a duplicate entry for harvest in the tool category menu (harvest and harvesting) and I think that the "soil" category should be "soil management". We might want to also add a category for bee keepers called "pollinators/honey" .
I think that tools should be listed by default from most complete to least complete - or from commercial product, to DIY, on down to concept. This will highlight the most complete projects first, and also provide an incentive to move the other products at the back of the list up towards the front. It is also becoming clear to me that a sort or search function is going to become very important very quickly.
As I am starting to go through tool entries and I have questions about the entry, I think that some of them might best go to a private e-mail, and some are better to post the the associated forum. I think that adding a more social aspect to the tool wiki interface would really help improve the content. It would be nice to be able to see who was the last editor without going into the revision history, and then be able to directly contact the last poster to that wiki.
