I would like to examine how recent scientific advances in using combinations of Red and Blue light to stimulate indoor plant growth can be combined with open embedded computing to provide a truly accessible method of growing fresh produce for almost any environment. Usage of LEDs in indoor horticulture has grown substantially in the past year alone.
I am interested in creating a small scale edible hydroponic wall inside the new NOFA-NH office. It will be as much an art display as a demo for micro-farming, urban farming, education and do-it-yourself ingenuity. The new NOFA-NH office is a prime location to share Farm Hack opportunities, we have plenty of space and room to grow. It would be really cool to get a group of people together to design this fixture and to volunteer to implement it and teach others how they might be able to do the same thing in their homes, offices or shops.
