Farm Sketchup Library

Part of the documentation that would be really helpful for tool wikis will be good sketchup models. The more we can collect good components to build from the easier it will be for farm hackers to build on them and make better models, which will make it easier to build new REAL tools. We could build our own library or build a section and link to the 3D warehouse. Other ideas?

Mobile version of rocket oven

One of my next projects is to design a mobile version of this oven so that it can be moved for events or if we change the farm bakery location. If anyone has experience using one of these ovens, it would be great to coordinate before beginning this project. Is anyone else interested in trying to build one of these - mobile or not? Comments on the design and possible effect on the quality of the bread?

GEK Gassifier

I am interested if anyone on this forum has experience with the GEK gassifier units or with gas co-generation in general. It is a well documented open source design and looks like it would be an excellent addition to our farm hack tool wikis. I think one of my next projects will be building a gas co-generation unit to create heat and power, and transform our abundant woodchips in this area to woodash for spreading on our fields.

Electric cultivating tractor

I know there are lots of folks out there who have done the Allis G electric tractor and it is really well documented elsewhere. If there are farm hack members with experience with this conversion, or interested in building an open source "G like" tractor I would be really interested to jump in. Ben, you have the allis G sketchup files right? I think that together we could probably put together enough information for the start of a good tool wiki on the topic. We could then do some sub-tool wikis for G-type implements like the various tine weeding approaches etc.

Ideas on best practices for advocating for documentation

As a productive community member, it's in everyone's interest to ask questions and advocate for more complete documentation wherever it is lacking. I see that Dorn has started by placing the Tool Wiki Template into Tool Wikis that lack documentation (Food Fractal and Pedal-Powered Power Tools). I think that's a good call and I would also like to add that I think it might be a good idea to also accompany moves like this with a message in the Tool's forum.
