I found sections of this book very helpful in framing the Farm Hack project. I recommend others taking a look - especially around documentation and cultural best practices.

Some excerpts:

From Introduction "People should feel that their connection to a project, and influence over it, is directly proportional to their contributions."

BSF larvae collection

The number of larvae collected from each container was tracked over the 18 month research period. Attached is a graph and table with the data. I began and ended the project counting how many larvae climbed out of each container. During the winter months a gutter system was made to collect the excess liquid that was expected to drain out. Small holes were drilled in the bins to collect this run off, but unfortunately many of the larvae crawled through them into the gutter. This made it impossible to keep an accurate count of how many larvae crawled out of each container.

Business management software survey for growers

Hi All,

I'm the founder of Cabbige, business management software designed for diversified growers. We're getting ready to release the next version of our product in late May/early June, and have put together a little survey to get opinions on pricing and features.

The survey has 9 questions, takes about 2-3 minutes, the results will be used to determine our pricing and the future features that we build, and we'd love your input.

A link to the survey is here - http://svy.mk/19pFIZD

Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions.

Cheers! Jessie

Tool Email Accounts

After working on the culticycle for a while I have realized that I now am the owner of the google drive, GrabCAD, and imgur for the tool. Most of these have collaborative edit functions, however the owner carries other responsibilities that deters accessibility to all file editing, replacing, and organization. Have we thought about making an account per tool? For example, culticycle@gmail.com and then create all the additional accounts through this one email. Everyone would have access and therefore the lead collaborators can be dynamic as people move in and out of these projects.

Advice from the FarmHack community for BBC tech programme

Hello everyone!

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right section, apologies if not! Just to introduce myself - I'm part of the team that works on BBC tech programme Click - we're a weekly TV show that goes out on BBC News, BBC World and the BBC News Website.

We're in the initial stages of a project for which I was hoping to get the advice and possibly involvement from the Farm Hack community.
