Glad to see I wasn't the only person who had this idea! Even better, someone beat me to it in execution. I was wondering if there is a notable cost-saving in printing vs purchasing? Did you have access to a fab-lab with a 3d printer or did you have them fabbed and shipped to you?
I am working on this project, but I was unable to find the Quick Connect piece suggested in the post. Instead, I've ordered a flexible duct vent with standard clamps. I am worried that the metal may puncture the outer plastic wall. Has anyone else tried this method? Any suggestions for padding or protecting the outer plastic wall?
Edixon and I have been working on writing up build instructions and drawings from our work on the culticycle and have posted them on the tool page above. We based most of our work off of the build instructions from tim (greentractorfarm), but have modified some things based on the tools and knowledge that we have. Does anybody have suggestions about how best to display both sets of build instructions. Is it helpful to have the instructions as a googledoc rather than as a word document on google drive so that collaborators can edit and change things in real time?

Tim - Front End Questions: We are starting to plan telescoping tie rods out of square tubing. Your documentation recommends 3/4 and 1 in square tubing. This seems pretty robust. What about using 3/4" and 1/2" square tubing?
We have been looking at steering designs for go carts, specifically, www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11146. In step 15, why is it necessary to create the 30 bend in the steering knuckle instead of a series of bearings similar to the go cart designs linked above?

Usually, tool postings to Farm Hack include plans or designs to make it possible for the tool to be rebuilt or modified. Hi, would like to try out your crop planning tool. It all look great. But to be fully useful for us in our CSA we would need a version where a few data entries could be changed. Since we also have english speaking persons in our project we would need to add more likely then change the whole scheme. For example here in Europe we have as you all know a different metric system, we would also like to change the currency to Swedish kronor, and names for the crops in Swedish simply so the csa members understand what they are growing in Swedish.
I am very interested in the android based fido that uses the thermodo sensor. Wondering if or when the application may be ready for the public. I live 25 minutes from the farm I manage and text message notification of temperature in our seedling greenhouse would be a great help. Any timeline or suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.
