If the project and name of this tool are copyrighted should it be documented within a tool wiki? Maybe this technology is best left to discuss in the forums?
Would you be interested some remote collaboration on the Greenhouse Monitoring project? I have a small urban farm near Cleveland, OH: http://baybranchfarm.com with a small hoophouse.
I would be willing to purchase the components and build my own monitoring device. And then also assist with the design and programming. Once operational I could give farmer feedback on the use of the device.
I've seen a few designs for pedal operated generators but what I'm wondering about is a pedal operated PTO. I have the desire for a reasonably portable unit that could be used to "motorize" our grain mill, possibly power a homestead sized threshing machine, root washer, maybe even a lathe or other shop tools? The design I like best is the Rodale Energy Cycle, but I'd like for some method for making it belt-drive and adding a flywheel? Other designs out there that come close to this idea?
This will be a great farm hack tool entry! I look forward to seeing the material and construction details. A video of moving it would be cool too. This is something that we would be interested in building on our farm.

I am thinking about building a trailer for a farm bike that does not involve any welding. Does anyone have any plans? We have some old bike wheels, wooden boards, bolts, etc., but the axle and connection to an old mountain bike are some stocking points that I haven't really "wrapped my head around." I was going to start something on Sketchup, but thought I'd check here to see if there are any resources out there already. We tried a couple renditions already, with some 2x4s and a wheelbarrow, and er, uh, no success.
This tool was demonstrated at the New Hampshire Farm hack, and I think there were several folks taking photos. Anyone out there that could post photos of it in operation for the wiki?
The oat huller tool wiki could benefit from the scanned in engineering drawings being transfered to CAD files. Any one out there know someone learning CAD that is looking for a project? This would reduce the burden for the next to build.
Are there material specifications/bill of materials for this project? Perhaps required steel stock, cut lengths, assembly order and drawings? If we can get another one built it would be great to document the fabrication process, and move this from functional prototype to DIY.
